Gimena Areal

Gimena was born in Uruguay, where she studied law at the University of Montevideo and was awarded a scholarship for her academic excellence.
During the last years of her career and after graduating, she worked in the Corporate and Banking sector of one of the most recognized law firms in Uruguay, being part of the legal team of prestigious national and international banks and financial houses.

As she has always been attracted to international law, she has participated in international arbitration competitions and has taken several legal English courses with American professors. Also, following her interest in the international environment and in order to broaden her knowledge, she moved to Madrid to study a Master in International and Public Law.

Currently, after learning about the Industrial Property field thanks to Balder, she has started a new Master in Industrial Property Law and is also studying the course of Industrial Property Agent.

Gimena is part of the Trademark team and is focused on the whole LATAM region. Her main desire is to continue her training in the area of Trademark Law since she has been motivated and interested in this area since she started working in it
