Daphne was born in Lima, the usually overcast but full of life capital city of Peru.
She studied Law at Universidad de Lima. In her last year she started an internship at one of the most renowned law firms in Peru. After graduation she continued working there, but she was eager to have international experiences. Thus, she moved to “bonnie” Scotland, a place she had always wanted to visit, in order to truly improve her command of the English language and, as she travelled around its cities, learn more about a culture she had always been interested in.
Almost a year later she returned to Peru and took the Graduate Exam that enabled her to join the Lima Bar Association. However, the opportunities to study abroad had not come to an end yet, as she was awarded a fellowship in Turin (Italy) for a postgraduate course in Economic Law and Competition in the European Union. The course was taught in English, so language was not a barrier to get the most out of this experience.
Once back she had the opportunity to work as an advisor at the Congress of Peru where she was not only able to apply her knowledge of the law but acquire expertise in parliamentary proceedings. Although it was a great professional and life experience, as she has always been attracted to international environments, in 2012 she joined a boutique law firm with offices in Lima and Miami. There she specialised in providing bilingual legal advice to clients across the world. In 2014, she came to Madrid to study a master’s degree in Company Law and simply fell in love with the city, so it has become her home ever since.
In her spare time, she likes going to the theatre and the cinema, as well as hiking in the highlands of Madrid.
