Ana did her PhD in Analytical Chemist at the University of Complutense of Madrid (UCM), Spain. During her PhD studies, she spent six months working at the U. S. Geological Survey (USGS) in Menlo Park, California, United States. After finishing her PhD studies in 2014, prompted by her previous enriched experience working abroad, she decided to continue her postdoctoral studies in a foreign country and applied for a postdoctoral fellowship at the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM) in Berlin, Germany. She was awarded two competitive postdoctoral fellowships, among them with the prestigious Marie Curie fellowship, and it was then that she had the opportunity to lead her research project.
In 2018, tired of the precarity in academic research, she decided to try a new career and started her journey as a technical expert at a patent company located in Berlin, CH Kilger. After a year of working in this new career, the daily tasks exceeded her expectations and she finally decided to train as a candidate to become a European patent attorney.
In 2020, she decided to move back to her home country, and it was then that she joined Balder IP as a patent consultant in the Chemistry Department.
Ana is in her second year of the Course in European Patent Law organized by the Center for International Studies on Intellectual Property (CEIPI) of the University of Strasbourg.
She is a native Spanish speaker and fluent speaker of English. She also has some knowledge of German.
