News Professionals: We welcome Paulo, Norman and Gustavo into our team.

As you may have noticed, we have just launched our new website. Apart from the new design, it also reflects our growth during the last months.

For example, due to our growing workload in Latin America, we have reinforced the Latin American team with a senior Brazilian attorney, Paulo Brandão, with more than 20 years of experience acquired at major Brazilian IP boutiques. Based at our Madrid office, Paulo will assist our clients especially in relation to prosecution in Latin America, with a special focus on Brazil.

On the other hand, some months ago Norman Toporcer joined our patent department. He is an aeronautical and telecom engineer who previously worked as a patent engineer at Fractus®, a successful Catalan company (some of their inventors were finalists for the European Inventor Award in 2014, for their fractal-based antennae for mobile phones). Norman is co-inventor in the recently published US 2016/0028152 A1  and he brings fresh industry experience into our firm. He also adds to our Catalan speaking crew, and whenever we have doubts about how to express ourselves in the Slovak language, we turn to him.

Gustavo de Dios joined us just a few weeks ago. He is a Spanish Patent and Trademark Attorney and “almost” a European one (he will hopefully pass paper D this year). He is also an aeronautical engineer, but with a different specialization than Norman. Some of us are indeed happy to be able to count on him when dealing with inventions related to fluid dynamics or composite materials …

In 2015 we grew more than we had expected,  but in spite of the workload we have taken us the necessary time to carefully select the new members of the team and make sure to get the best. We are confident that they will allow us to continue delivering the work products with the usual quality and timeliness.
