Attorney at Law

Manuel was born and raised in Colombia, in the city of Medellin. There he studied and graduated in law.

Passionate about learning about other cultures and expanding his frontiers, he did his academic exchange in Switzerland where his desire to develop professionally in an international environment was born.

After this experience and only in his third year of studies, he joined one of the largest law firms in Colombia, where for two years he had the opportunity to work on international trademark portfolios and projects, specializing specifically in the prosecution of trademarks in the Andean Pact.

Wanting to make a change in his professional approach, Manuel decided, together with some colleagues, to found his own firm focused exclusively on the integral attention to entrepreneurs, being Manuel the one in charge of advising his clients in Intellectual Property matters, mainly in trademarks and copyrights.

At the same time he worked as Inhouse in a relevant company in the medical cannabis sector in Colombia, where he had the opportunity to manage several regulatory issues and especially the Intellectual Property portfolio.

However, he decided to follow his international illusions by starting an LLM in IP in Dresden.

In 2020 he came to Balder where he has found the perfect balance between an international environment and his local practice in Andean Pact countries.

In his spare time Manuel enjoys traveling, having even lived in Moscow for a while.

He is passionate about history and soccer and he misses not being able to watch his favorite soccer team.
