Ellis was born and raised in the south of the Netherlands. From a young age she was interested in other cultures and languages, so after high school she decided to study Cultural Anthropology.
However, after finishing university, she ended up in the aromatic world of coffee, where she worked for the biggest and most famous coffee company in the Netherlands. In her job as coordinator in customer service department, she had the opportunity to taste the delights of the food and drink industry as well as learning a lot of useful administrative and sales skills.
At the age of 25, she decided it was time for a new challenge and she moved to Newcastle in the north of the United Kingdom. Here she perfected her English (as well as learning the local accent, which was almost like learning another language on its own!) She worked at Procter & Gamble, started as a call centre agent and worked her way up to Vendor Governance Manager in the Global Consumer Relations team. Although she was really enjoying life and work in the UK, after more than 10 years, she realized it was time to finally make her teenage dream of learning Spanish and moving to Madrid come true.
After working as an English teacher for some time, mainly with children, she realized she was missing the international working environment. She felt very lucky when she found a job vacancy at Balder. Now she feels right at home, amongst her colleagues from all over the world.
In her spare time, Ellis is studying a B.A. degree in Spanish and German. Then spends the remaining little time left listening to music: buying vinyl, going to concerts or going dancing.
