ATTORNEY AT LAW
Although Carmen was born in a very particular and small region located in the South of Spain, she had a somewhat restless childhood, living in different cities and attending seven different schools in Cordoba, Barcelona, Madrid and Shanghai, all without losing her Andalusian accent. Travelling so much and at such an early age undoubtedly shaped her character, turning her into the extroverted, open and sociable person she is today.
Each city left its mark on her, perhaps the deepest being China, where she learned an excellent English and a very mediocre Chinese. It was there that her first interest in law was born, specifically in the field of diplomacy.
Her passion for intellectual property began when she studied Commercial Law at the Abat Oliba CEU University in Barcelona, and since then, that passion has only grown: she studied two Masters degree, one for access to the legal profession and the other specialized in Intellectual Property Law at the Carlos III University in Madrid.
Her admiration for people with creative and artistic skills led her to a first stage of work focused on copyright and new technologies Law in one of the most influential law firms in the country. But what really fascinated Carmen were the issues related to patents and trademarks and when she had the opportunity, she started working in a firm specialized in this sector, where she had the chance to put into practice her knowledge in the field.
After this experience, Carmen joined the BALDER team, where her interest in this very specific field of law is growing every day, and where she is expanding her knowledge in the rest of industrial property modalities.
In her free time, rather scarce, Carmen enjoys playing sports, trying different types of cuisine, travelling and also, trying to bring her family together, whose members, very much to her regret, are living throughout the national territory.
