After obtaining his Bachelor degree in Telecommunication Engineering from the Public University of Navarra in 2009, Jesús began his adventure in the world of Industrial Property in one of the most traditional and well-known IP Firms in Spain. There, his work as a patent consultant was mainly focused on drafting and prosecuting patent applications before the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office, the EPO and the USPTO, both for small companies, such as start-ups, and for large corporations, particularly in the electronic and mechanical field.
After six years working as a patent consultant in that IP Firm, he began a new stage as an in-house patent attorney in one of the most recognized IT multinationals, Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), where he spent most of his time managing the company’s European patent portfolio. He also managed highly strategic patent applications throughout the patent lifecycle by collaborating directly with colleagues in the company’s inventor community and in the business units, personally drafting and prosecuting high quality patent applications for strategically important inventions, and interacting with worldwide patent offices to secure valuable patent coverage. He further assisted patent portfolio managers with the company’s patent portfolio analysis.
Focusing primarily on the technical fields of telecommunications, electronics and computer-implemented inventions, he enjoyed a very international environment which allowed him to specialize in U.S. prosecution thanks to his many U.S. colleagues.
Having the experience as a Patent Attorney, both in-house and in private practice, Jesús decided to return to the world of private practice through BALDER in October 2018.
Jesús qualified as European Patent Attorney (EQE) in 2017. He speaks fluent English and Italian, as well as Spanish, this being his mother tongue.
In his free time, Jesús enjoys listening to music and running, and also when possible, he likes to disconnect in his small village in the south of Navarra by spending time with his family and childhood friends.
