Exciting changes at BALDER in 2023
We are very pleased to announce this great news!
On behalf of all of us at BALDER, we would like to congratulate our dear colleagues and friends Karin Guridi, Blanca Fresneau, Kathrin Mandel, Helga Cester and Carmen Romero on their promotion to Associate.
Karin joined BALDER since its start in 2012, bringing not only her language skills (she works in Spanish, English and German) but also her experience in national, European and international trademark legal counselling. She is actively involved in IP legal counseling, Intellectual Property and Unfair Competition matters before Spanish and European Courts (General Court of the European Union). She also has proven experience in domain name recovery proceedings before the WIPO.
Blanca joined BALDER since the beginning as an attorney with proven experience in trademark proceedings before the EUIPO. In these years, her expert and rigorous advice has been key in the design of registration strategies and in the defense of global clients’ trademarks against third parties. Blanca knows the European Union trademark procedure to perfection and has been an exceptional witness of the regulatory changes and the evolution of this legal figure practically since its creation.
Our colleague Kathrin is a qualified IP lawyer in both Germany and Spain. This double status makes her professional practice especially versatile. Kathrin has a great capacity to adapt to the technical, linguistic and cultural requirements of her clients. She has been contributing for many years writing articles on current topics related to industrial property for the German magazine GRUR-Prax.
Helga, European Patent Attorney, brings to BALDER since 2017, in addition to her versatility in terms of languages (with fluency in Spanish, German and English), her triple vision Agency/Industry/Consultancy; this allows her to face with understanding and empathy the challenges proposed by clients, in the areas of Chemistry and Pharmacy. Her activity is mainly focused on patent prosecution before foreign patent offices, especially the EPO and Latin American Offices, as well as the drafting of patent applications and the preparation of patentability and infringement opinions.
Carmen joined our team in 2017, and in her short but very promising professional career she has acquired an important role in the management of significant intangible portfolios of strategic clients actively intervening in out-of-court dispute resolution, drafting of contracts, licenses intervening, and when necessary, as well in court. Her versatility and creativity are two important advantages for our clients.
We are very proud of their achievements and the growth in our team.
Congratulations Karin, Blanca, Kathrin, Helga and Carmen!
