Intangible assets enhance the importance of Industrial Property

"On this very day, in 1970 to be precise, WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization) was founded."

WIPO’s annual awareness campaign for 2022 has been dedicated to youth and Intellectual Property, taking the latter in its broadest sense, and what Intellectual Property means to them.

Because of the rapid development of new technologies and new generations’ access to them, innovators and creators are becoming more accustomed to coming up with new ideas and initiatives simply because they are in their natural home.
When a young person finds a problem when using a computer program or a website, they have a natural propensity and a specific capacity to fix the problem because it is a daily occurrence for them. As a result, more and more initiatives or start-ups are forming, driven by groups of friends, school or university classmates who have taken up the creation of new ideas or solutions as a ‘hobby.’

Based on the premise that every company is born from an idea, the WIPO has devoted part of its efforts and resources this year to raising awareness of the importance of IP among young people and promotes training and dissemination of knowledge of this subject among young people so that this wonderful discipline is not the ´eternal unknown´.

We feel that this goal is being met gradually, while there is still a long way to go.
